Operations Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Release & Deployment Management: Manage and standardise application deployments across production and pre-production environments using CI/CD tools such as GitLab.

• Application Operations: Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot Java-based applications, investigate incidents, resolve bugs and implement patches or workarounds.

• DevSecOps Implementation: Design and implement DevSecOps solutions, enforce security policies and integrate security practices into development and deployment pipelines.

• Infrastructure Management: Manage application servers, databases, Linux environments and cloud/hybrid infrastructure while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.

• Automation & CI/CD: Develop automation scripts and manage deployment pipelines using tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI and GitHub Actions.

• Security & Vulnerability Management: Conduct security assessments, vulnerability checks and system stress testing.

• Monitoring & Observability: Maintain monitoring solutions, analyse system logs and track application performance to support incident resolution.

• Business Continuity: Develop, maintain and test disaster recovery plans, operational procedures and business continuity processes.

• Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, operational runbooks, incident response procedures and recovery playbooks.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with technical teams, project managers, developers and architects, and provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing.

Mandatory Technical Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 12 years of overall IT experience working with enterprise-level information systems.

• Minimum 12 years of experience in:

  • Networking concepts: DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls and VPNs.

  • Application servers: Tomcat, WebLogic or similar.

  • Database management systems: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch or similar.

  • Scripting languages: Bash, PowerShell, Python, Perl and YAML.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

• Minimum 7 years of experience in:

  • DevSecOps practices within Agile environments.

  • CI/CD, deployment and release management pipelines.

  • Java, Spring and Spring Boot application hosting and development environments.

  • Repository management tools such as Nexus.

  • Static code analysis and security tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, OWASP and Trivy.

• Minimum 3 years of experience with:

  • Secret management tools such as CyberArk and HashiCorp.

  • Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk and Prometheus.

• Minimum 1 year of experience with:

  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate management.

  • CI tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI and Jenkins.

  • GitOps controllers such as Argo CD and Flux.

Educational & Language Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (EQF Level 6) or equivalent, with at least 12 years of IT professional experience.

• Very good command of both English and French (minimum B2 level), spoken and written.
